Andrew Boyle, DPodM, MRCPod

I qualified in 1984 after studying for three years at the Northern College of Chiropody (Manchester/Salford).
The next four years were spent in NHS employment with Southport and Formby Health Authority. I had special responsibility for providing the nail surgery service , and for the treatment of those in specialist psychiatric care at Greaves Hall Hospital. In 1989, I took up a post with Liverpool Health Authority, with responsibility for developing and operating the Orthotics Department.

I also worked within the Orthopaedics Department at Royal Liverpool Hospital, as the chiropodist in a specialist foot health team, headed by the distinguished surgeon Professor Leslie Klenerman. I was involved with a research clinic that developed new techniques in the prevention, and treatment of neuropathic foot ulcers.

Alongside my NHS work, I developed my private practice, opening my first surgery in Formby in 1991. In 2000, I decided to commit to full time private practice and I ceased all my NHS work. Now there are three venues for treatment, Formby, Ainsdale and Maghull. I have six wonderful associate chiropodists who have equal levels of experience and quality of treatment as myself. Between us we hope to keep our patients comfortable and mobile for years to come.

In July 2008, I was appointed by the R & A to provide the Podiatry service for The Open at Royal Birkdale Golf Club.

I attend the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists Annual Conference every year. I am a member of the Merseyside Branch of our Society where I undertake CPD training events. I attend Focus on Feet, which is a quarterly meeting with the Orthopaedic Foot Surgeon, Mr. Chris Walker and his team, at the Spire Liverpool Hospital. Recently I have also attended the Independant Private Practitioners Conference.
